Funny Cat Stories About Wise, Imaginative Felines
June 10, 2011 by Robert Baker · Comments Off
As the stars of television shows featuring the acrobatics and antics of naughty and humorous animals, funny cat stories are always tales that everyone can enjoy. These felines seem to bring with them a sense of light-heartedness and love into any home they inhabit and inspite of the inevitable cat hair on the furniture, their owners would not trade them for anything in the world.
Cats look so wise and serene when they are asleep or resting peacefully in a sunbeam filtering through a window; particularly tabby-cats who often have white feet. They put their paws together – like soft snowballs, and silently sit with their eyes closed as if in deep prayer or meditation. Like monks they sit quietly, connected with everything in the world, or perhaps; just very sleepy.
It seems that these felines have fun by imagining crazy scenarios to entertain themselves. It is not uncommon to see a cat dash off suddenly, after an invisible target or jump up with an arched back; alerted by an unheard noise. It would be entertaining to experience life through the eyes of a cat.
A particular cat became well-known for its household antics, which proved to be very entertaining for visiting guests. It seemed to be able to understand the game of “tag”. Its owner would flick it lightly on its tail and then run away. Immediately it would spin around and chase the owner.
Upon getting in range of the owner, the cat would reach out and swipe its paw lightly on its owner’s leg and then run off swiftly in another direction, being chased by its owner who would at that stage be laughing uncontrollably. Up and down the stairs, around the garden and over the furniture and beds it would continue – a hilarious display.
It is amazing how “human-like”, their antics can be and how they seem to slink about like members of a royal breed that deserves attention and awe. Pet owners develop special relationships with their animals and funny cat stories always seem to be a common point of conversation between them.
There is no better method to keep your cat in comfort than by providing a pagoda cat house for sleeping. Pagoda cat condos are stylish and smart.
Why The Cat Shelters Give Away Persian Cats At A Cheaper Rate
April 18, 2011 by Cynthia Turner · Comments Off
Persian cats are considered to be the cream of the cat family. They are by far the ideal choice to keep as an indoor pet. Their introverted and placid nature helps them to easily adjust to an indoor environment thus making them excellent house pets.
For the Persian cats and the kittens a loving home and a family is very important because they need someone to look after them. They are extremely playful and cuddly and these cute cats will let you fondle them and play with you. If you are interested in a Persian cat you can get one home from the many cat shelters which give shelter to these cats.
There are several such shelters that can be contacted through the internet. Although Persian cats are least likely to run away and become stray cats, such adoption centers offer a temporary home to the homeless Persian cats. Once at the shelter they are provided the perfect environment and health care to make sure they stay healthy and clean.
Then they are advertised through different mediums aiming to fascinate those individuals that are interested in buying a Persian cat. Since these adoption centers are not professional breeders it is unlikely that you will have some specific special breed that they have to offer. Rather you will be able to find a random selection of different variations of the Persian cat of different ages and colors.
The Persian cats have no trouble in adjusting to a new home as if it were its own. To have Persian cats for pet is therefore a good idea. The most of the cats in the adoption centers have been rescued by the animal center when they had become stray and these cats are now longing for a loving home and a family.
If you are preparing to get a Persian cat for a pet it is better that you get one from these homes as the cats here are longing for love and you can give them a home and love.
Internet is a great place to look for a Persian cat if you are planning to bring home one that is put up for adoption. The cat shelters on their part put up detailed information about the cats that they are offering with catalogue of pictures, their age, weight and health conditions and also how they were found and where.
When you are purchasing a Persian cat you will find that a cat put up for sale by a shelter is cheaper than a professional breeder. The reason behind this is that the breeders have Persian cats of pure breed which they breed by putting in plenty of effort. That is why the Persian cats in a pet shop costs much higher according to the amount of effort as the breeder has put in, in bringing up a particular variety.
The Persian cats are kept temporarily in a shelter till they find a home and as such these homes are only caretakers of homeless Persians. To get a sweet cuddly Persian cat as a pet of your own you can approach one of these shelters and you will find the prices are much cheaper as the homes only keep the cats temporarily.

Hectic lives and wanting a break can be difficult, especially when you have to think about your beloved pet. There are many options that you can take when it comes to finding someone to look after your animal but it all depends on whether you are comfortable with putting the dog in kennels or to opt for a dog boarding, dog walking or pet sitting business.
There are now a number of professional companies that can offer you everything that you could possible need when it comes to caring for your pet while you are away. However, it can be difficult to see why you should go for these companies rather than putting your pet into a kennel that your friends or family have recommended.
The major benefits are for your pet. Most professionals will stay at your home to look after your pet, which keeps it in its natural environment and helps to stick with what it likes best. This can help with sticking with its usual routine and a regular diet. To keep your dog stay healthy.
Travelling and new places can be harmful to your pet, they find going to new surroundings traumatic, and especially when surrounded by people they do not know who are looking after them. A kennel can also mean being surrounded by other pets and a lack of care and love. By having one person that is used to looking after animals, your pet can be cared for the whole time that you are away, which will help it to stay happy and healthy.
Of course, these advantages are not just for your pet, but also for your own state of mind. You want to know that your animal is constantly being looked after. This is more likely when it is done by somebody in your own home who only has your dog, or many a handful of animals, to look after. You can be in the knowledge that your dog is being cared for, fed properly and groomed as well as any diseases or illnesses are caught early so that you dog can receive the correct treatment.
When going away, it is not just your animal that is on your mind, your home will be too. By hiring someone who will essentially be staying in your house the whole time, you can be sure that your home is safe from burglars. It is the perfect alarm system.
While searching for a dog walking, pet sitting or dog boarding business may be time consuming and something different for you and your dog, but the advantages will pay off in the long term. Dogs, Cats and Pets All Give Us Memories
February 15, 2011 by James Jay · Comments Off
At this particular time and for one reason or another I was having trouble sleeping. Bed early or late, hot drink or not things were going around in my head and I was waking up all hours. So when I did find a peaceful sleep I was not best pleased to be woken up. There I was as snug as a bug in a rug I was in bed fast asleep and then there was that noise.
Sounded a little like a buzzer, or was there a hint of a ring to it, gone. Nop, there it is again, more like a jig saw, gone. On off, on off, what the hell was it, my only brain cell was now becoming curious, no leave it I’m warm, asleep. Blast there it is again, it’s my mobile phone battery low and pinging, can’t be that’s down stairs in the kitchen, oh no my mind is starting to go through things, it’s the alarm clock, no, this comes on as radio, oh for goodness sake… forget it and sleep.
“Zzzzz”, one eye pops opens and its absolutely black so it is still dark, too early to get up to see what the noise is, it’s the phone so there must be an emergency, something serious has happened to the kids, cannot stop the habit, big they are, but still kid’s to me. Both eyes open and well alert, arm shoots out and the moment I switch the bedside lamp on, “Zzzzz” noise, here it is again, that isn’t a phone, turning over in bed and here is the source of the noise, the flipping cat was on the bed laying beside my pillow SNORING. How the heck I managed not finishing up wearing a pair if grey fluffy slippers no matter how silly I looked I will never know.
Needless to say half an hour later and sleep not returning at 3.30am in the morning I was down stairs in the kitchen making a cup of tea feeding Charlie our Birman cat who yes had now shut up, woken up and was now hungry. Now where would I get a story to tell like that if I did not have Charlie the Cat.
Requirements of her work means my sister in law lodges part of the week and is accompanied with her Jack Russell Spot the dog. He is a box of energy box of energy the moment he walks through the door and the lead is taken off. Pow, he comes leaping up and down and flying around like someone nuts. He is ever so pleased to see you and after a while he quietens down but not for long, fun is his game and fun is what he wants, so toy tugging, stick retrieving, ball fetching, are all in for it from morning to night, every day of the year.
Watching him would make me feel exhausted but the trouble is all his fun games require your full participation, oh yes, from early light to late evening, seven days a week. Well I know I think he is great but I am very pleased he is here for only two days of the week as I would not get anything done and I would be worn out totally. As previously mentioned stick fetching is his most enjoyable game, out in the back garden you can throw the stick where you like, in the hedge, up the sloop, in the thickets and I can confidently say he will return with the blasted stick before you can sit on the garden bench and way before you reach your cool glass of beer for a drink.
Amazing, over and over he fetches the stick for you and lays it at your feet, backs off, crouches down saying pick it up old boy throw it, come on move, I’m ready. One sunny day we were talking in the kitchen and as you know from above we have Charlie the cat. Now Spot was running around seeking for something as usual to play with and darted off into the laundry room, now here the cat litter tray is situated. Oh dear, Spot bounces out of the laundry room looking real chuffed with himself and happily strolls down the kitchen and drops right at my feet one of Charlie’s turds, crouches down tail waving saying pick it up old boy throw it, come on move, I’m ready, NOWAY.
So I may have done something’s in my life but Charlie Turd throwing just will not happen Spot OLD boy. Where would I get a story like this to tell, over lunch perhaps?, if I did not have Spot the Jack Russell.

Animal Hospitals to Spay and Neuter Geneva’s Risky Canines
March 20, 2009 by Dr. Omaboe · Comments Off
And that’s just the beginning. As of 09/15/2008, Geneva’s list of canines declared as unsafe or vicious has grown to 15. The newest additions are the Bullmastiff, Thai Ridgeback, and French Mastiff, a.k.a. Bordeaux Bulldog.
These are only the most recent in Geneva’s history of dog prohibition. The latest wave began in June of 2005, when a child was killed by a Pitbull Terrier, followed shortly after with the injury of another child by the same breed.
The population’s outrage was felt in the first ever Geneva citizen vote, which resulted in a landslide 80 percent in favor of stricter laws regarding breed control and owner education and regulation.
Per Geneva’s new canine ownership regulations, any of the 15 breeds considered to be unsafe must be muzzled and leashed when outside of their own homes. They must be sterilized or castrated. Additionally, dogs that are mixed breeds, containing blood of any of the potentially fierce breeds, are subject to the same regulations as purebreds.
Owners who owned one of the identified breeds before legislation was passed may retain the dog, but only after reporting ownership to the cantonal veterinary office, proving that the canine came from an approved breeder, completing a dog training lessons, and licensing the dog. Only one dangerous breed is allowable per household.
Geneva divides the 15 breeds into different categories, with each category holding specific requirements. A complete list of dangerous breeds and set of laws can be acquired through Geneva’s cantonal veterinary office.
In addition to provisions that must be made for dangerous classes, Geneva’s general dog owner populace, custodians of the canton’s 30,000 dogs, is subject to new policy. As formerly declared, specific guidelines for the proper keeping of dogs must be pursued. But more recently, every dog owner is now required to attend a dog possession course, regardless of their dog’s breed.
Furthermore, dog walkers must now be accredited.
Geneva isn’t the only Swiss canton that’s tightening the leash when it comes to dog control. Valais, Fribourg, Bern, and Zurich have their own legislation. And, prospects point toward future rulings regarding care and control of dogs in all of Switzerland, including tougher liability for owners and nationwide breed bans.
Whether you’re a lifelong Geneva native, visitor, or expatriate, familiarizing yourself with the rules governing dog ownership within the canton will prevent complications. Following those rules will protect you, your dog, and your record with the law.
Don’t fail to comply with Geneva’s newest, and oldest, dog possession regulations by obtaining half truths, or no information. These laws are set to care for both you and your animal.
Parrot Owner Beware – You Might Be Hurting Your Pet
March 19, 2009 by Miyagii Moto · Comments Off
We can help but love our pets and they’re quickly becoming part of our lives. We would never want to hurt them but sometimes we’re doing things or not doing things that will actually have a negative effect on their health and physical condition.
The first things is that you need to make sure that you’re pet is given the proper food and other nutritional products that the specific breed might require. Even though we all know how important proper food is to a body (dog, cat, bird or human) we’re often going for quick solutions rather than the right solutions and the effect shows in all the statistics.
When you truly realize the effect that malnutrition can have on your pet (and yourself) you’ll be likely to change habits instantly. And if you find yourself in that situation or if you’re have been giving it some thoughts that your pet might not be fed the right pet food, then luckily there is a perfect solution. And that is to go see your VET and ask her what she recommends.
Proper nutrition will be really expensive in most cases and therefore you’ll find a lot of people that knows what the right thing to do is but that still won’t do it because it’ll cost too much. Time and money are not something that ordinary people have too much of these days.
The results of poor nutrition is agreed upon by almost any expert and professor in the world and that is that you’ll give the pet’s body a lessor chance when trying to fight off viruses and keep illnesses at a distance.
Accidents tends to occur more often to pets will low levels of energy and poor health conditions and in most of these situation it is caused partially by the lack of good food. It is sad as the solution is so obvious.
Getting back on your feed after being in an accident or having been ill will take a lot longer if you haven’t been eating right. This is exactly the same situation our pets face if we’re not providing the proper food for them.
In case you don’t want to or don’t have the financial ability to pay for the highly priced pet food that your pet would need then you might want to thing about signing your pet up for a low cost insurance plan. There are several great ones out there but you must know where to look to find them
